About Salman
I'm a Mathematics graduate from the University of Leeds with a genuine passion for the subject and a specific talent for making it accessible without dumbing it down.
What I offer is not just academic support but a genuine shift in how students relate to maths. Many of my students arrive convinced they're simply not maths people. By the end of our work together they understand that maths ability is not fixed — it responds directly to the quality of explanation and the right kind of practice.
I bring the same analytical rigour I developed through my degree to every session, combined with the patience and communication skills to translate that rigour into real understanding for each individual student. I adapt my style to the person in front of me rather than delivering a one-size-fits-all explanation.
I am punctual, well-prepared, and committed to measurable progress. I track each student's development across sessions and adjust my approach based on what's working and what needs more attention. You will always leave a session having genuinely understood something new.

Maths has a reputation for being difficult that I think is mostly undeserved. In my experience the subject only feels hard when it's taught as a set of rules to memorise rather than a logical system to understand. My approach is different.
I start by finding exactly where a student's understanding breaks down — not to highlight weakness but to rebuild from solid ground. Once we identify the gap, everything else follows more naturally than most students expect.
My sessions are conversational and problem-focused. I explain the logic behind every method rather than just the method itself, because a student who understands why something works can adapt it to any problem they encounter — including ones they've never seen before. That's what actually improves results.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, though I offer 90 minute sessions for students working towards exams or covering significant ground. I keep sessions focused and avoid cognitive overload — better to genuinely understand three concepts than superficially cover ten.
I studied Mathematics at the University of Leeds, one of the UK's leading universities for the subject, graduating with a strong foundation across pure maths, statistics and applied mathematics. I have a natural ability to break complex ideas into their simplest components without losing the rigour that makes maths powerful.
My sessions are suitable for students at GCSE, A-Level, IB and university foundation level. I also work with adult learners returning to maths for professional or academic purposes. Whether you're struggling to keep up, aiming for top grades, or preparing for a specific exam, I'll meet you where you are and move you forward efficiently.
