About Claudia
I've been in Canada for 20 years and am originally from Chile.
For the past two years, I've been volunteering in a conversation circle with newcomers to assist them improve their English abilities.
I am enthusiastic about learning a new language; the differences and similarities between them are what fascinate me the most. Knowing how variable the pronunciation can be depending on the student's primary language, I like assisting pupils in becoming more comfortable speaking Spanish.
I love to keep the class interesting, therefore I choose the next topic based on the students' interests, levels, and requirements.

I like to focus on day-to-day vocabulary and scenarios based on the student's level, emphasising the use of various grammar elements in each lesson.
A typical class might begin with the word of the day, - or saying of the day, followed by a reading assignment (based on student interest) vocabulary, and discussion would follow.
I attempt to create a welcoming environment in which students can talk freely regardless of their accent or sentence structure. My classes are designed for anyone with a basic understanding of Spanish, with a focus on business and tourist travellers.
