About Kaitlan
Hi, I’m Kaitlan, a 17-year-old A-level student currently studying biology, chemistry and psychology, with exams planned for summer 2027.
I have always enjoyed science, particularly biology, as I find it becomes much more interesting and rewarding once you understand how topics connect and start to build confidence in your knowledge.
Over the past year, I have worked hard to improve my own academic performance, especially in Biology, where I have developed effective revision techniques and a strong understanding of exam-style questions. Through this, I have learnt how to identify weaker areas, improve them step by step, and retain information in a way that is both efficient and long-lasting. This experience allows me to support students not with just content, but with how to revise and approach exams effectively.
I want to become a tutor because I enjoy helping others understand topics they might have previously found difficult. I find it really rewarding to see someone go from feeling unsure to feeling confident and capable. My goal is to help students reach a point where they feel prepared for their exams and proud of the progress they have made. I also want to help students feel more positive about biology as a subject and hopefully even inspire some to continue it further at A-level.
My teaching style is supportive, patient and focused on the individual student. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I adapt my approach depending on what works best for each person. Whether that involves breaking topics down into simple steps, using practice questions or focusing on exam technique. I aim to make lessons as effective and helpful as possible.
As a current student I also understand the pressures of exams and how overwhelming revision can sometimes feel. Because of this, I aim to create a comfortable and encouraging learning environment where students feel able to ask questions and build confidence without pressure. I believe that with the right support, every student is capable of improving and achieving their goals.
Overall, I am passionate about helping students succeed, improving both their understanding and their confidence in biology, while making the learning process more enjoyable and rewarding.

My lessons are tailored to each student and focus on improving weaker areas rather than reteaching everything. I will create a supportive one-to-one environment that feels more personal than a typical classroom. We’ll use example-style questions, past papers, and clear explanations to build understanding, improve grades, and boost confidence. I also aim to make biology more enjoyable and engaging, helping students feel more positive about the subject and their exams.
