About Amna

I am a scientist with a PhD degree and an A-level chemistry examiner. I am an expert tutor for GCSE/IGCSE, A-level, and IB (SL and HL) with more than 12 years of teaching and lab research experience.

I've tutored school and university students offline and online; one-on-one and in groups; supervised Bachelor's and Master's students; created online courses for A-level, GCSE and SAT chemistry students. Since 2018, I tutor exclusively online.

My lessons will be adapted to your needs. During a trial lesson, we usually go through a short diagnostic test together (based on the curriculum you're studying). This helps me to identify your strengths and weaknesses and to create a personalised study plan for you.

The key to my students' success is the perfect study plan, simple explanations of difficult concepts, and a lots of practice of exam-style questions with rigorous explanations.

And finally, as a scientist with a PhD degree and the first author of several peer-reviewed research papers, I provide recommendation letters for university applications to the exceptional students.

Welcome to my lessons!

P.S.: Please note that currently I do not teach students younger than 14 years old and university students.

Amna, I am truly grateful for all the support you have given K* throughout the year. You have managed to change his mindset about Chemistry. He have not even once showed any unwillingness about having his lesson with you, I do not know how you did it!
He was a bit sad today, telling me it was his last lesson with you. And he was almost jumping with joy to be stopping his lessons with other tutors.

So thank you so very much, Amna, for everything. You were also a great stability in K*'s week and home work.
If this is okay I will pass on your email to my colleagues if they need a tutor for their children, I can't think of anyone I would recommend more.
If you have a website and would like to to write a review, please do not hesitate to send me a link. Please feel free to quote my words too.
And if you need any recommendation to anyone about your teaching in the future, please let me know and it will be my pleasure.

How lucky we are to have met Amna at Preply - her professionalism, results-oriented attitude, skillful methodology, passion for the subject and genuine charm - let my son Mikhail not only understand, but also feel the chemistry, which makes this subject more and more favourite for him) Michael has been working on his IGCSE preparation with Amna for several months – he always enjoys going to class and admires how Amna can explain clearly and intelligibly even the most complex concepts. It’s a great pleasure to work with Amna. We are deeply grateful to Amna!

Words can't describe how grateful I am to have found Amna on preply! We've been working together for few weeks now and I genuinely feel more and more confident in my abilities with each lesson we have. We're focusing on IMAT preparation (med school entrance exam in Italy). I love that Amna always explains everything in such an easy and straightforward way. Every class feels extremely productive and she really makes chemistry enjoyable and interesting, which is something I never thought I would say about this subject. I highly, highly recommend Amna as your chemistry tutor - she is the best!

She is the best tutor ever! Very lucky to have found her! Firstly she respects you and listens to you rather than being your superior. Also she explains everything and makes sure you understand before moving on. Gives you a plan from the start and discusses your concerns throughout.

Before I started having chemistry lessons with Amna my understating of the subject was very limited. Even though we started having lessons only a month before my IBDP Chemistry exams, we managed to go through the entire syllabus. Amna has great materials, is extremely knowledgeable, and she made sure that we studied at a pace that I was comfortable with, which I really appreciated. Thank you!

I started off my IB chemistry journey with very low grades and i couldn’t understand anything. After i started my lessons with Mrs.Amna i started to see a major difference in my performance. The notes that she provided helped me a lot during my revision for the world exam and i would really recommend her for other struggling IB chemistry students.

Amna is an excellent Chemistry tutor. I required extra support with As and A level AQA Chem, as I found some concepts difficult to grasp. I am so glad that I found Amna. Being taught by Amna was a blessing, she manages to prepare great material and tailor the teaching method to suit your learning style. Amna helps simplify tasks which can seem confusing, especially organic chem and nomenclature, as well as physical chemistry and inorganic. I believe Amna has played a huge role in helping boost my grades to meet the Uni requirements to study my chosen Uni course. Thank you Amna

Honestly I was very scared about starting to learn chemistry again as I didn't remember it as my favourite subject, but with Amna I really enjoyed it and waited for every lesson! I could easily understand everything and I always had fun :DD I will also mention that I felt comfortable during the lessons, in my school I often felt discouraged to learn as my teachers would shame me for not knowing something, but with Amna even if I forgot something she would just explain it again and say that it's alright and that with practice I will get there!

Best chemistry tutor ever!!! :)) She helped me so much and always explains things so clearly! She will always make sure that you truly understand a topic before moving on so you don't get confused. Even if you don't understand one way, she will try to find another way to explain it to you! She is really funny and friendly and also has perfect notes XD

Amna is a very effective Chemistry tutor. My son was nervous about how effective on-line Chemistry tutoring could be, but he feels that his time with Amna is very effective. She knows her stuff and is able to identify areas that my son needs support with. Thank you, Amna!

Amna is a wonderful tutor who knows the ins and outs of many courses (IB, GCSE, and A-Levels) She provided me with course-tailored revision notes and explained all concepts and difficult questions at a pace that I could understand. In preparation for my final IB exams, she worked patiently with me through past papers troubleshooting my weak points. My only regret is that I hadn't found her sooner, I'd be coasting to a 7. I would absolutely recommend her to any student in their final years looking to excel!

We have never and I repeat NEVER had a teacher like that. My kids went to IB MYP and when my daughter arrived to 11th grade I started to see that the prep for HL chemistry in MYP was kind of a joke. Seriously, I was helpless, wanting to help her I was searching tutors online and watching my clever girl getting 4’s and 3’s. Everything changed when I tried Preply and Amna for the first time, she explained chemistry like no one else. So we booked 6 lessons and than another 6 and another 6 and my girl started to revive 5’s and than 6’s and 7’s. Amazing, devoted, clever, tons of patience - everything I say will sound pale compared to this lady. I repeat my opening line - We had never ever had a teacher like her. Absolutely fabulous!!!!

Amna is very patient teacher. She can explain material in several ways and points at things which you must remember before the exams. It is second year for me studying with Amna and I got A in AS-level examinations. I can always ask Amna to help me with my homework from school, she makes short and really helpful videos, so I understand material well. Amna is the best tutor I have ever had!
