About Matthew
I achieved an A* in A-Level Computer Science and have a strong understanding of both theoretical and practical components of the course. I am friendly, approachable and patient, aiming to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.

My lessons are structured, practical and exam-focused, tailored to each student’s needs. Having achieved an A* in A-Level Computer Science, I understand what examiners look for and how to secure top marks, particularly in longer written responses and programming questions.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and delivered online. Sessions combine clear explanation of theory, worked examples, coding practice and exam-style questions with detailed feedback. I focus on helping students develop strong computational thinking, accurate technical terminology and effective exam technique.
I tutor GCSE, AS Level and A-Level students, catering to all major exam boards, with particular familiarity and preference for OCR. Whether you need help understanding core concepts, improving programming skills or refining exam answers, lessons are adapted to suit your level and goals.

Matthew helped me with A Level Economics in the lead up to my exams. What I found most helpful was how he focused on how to actually answer exam questions, especially building clear chains of analysis and evaluation. In one session we went through a full past paper essay and he showed me how to improve each section. It really helped my confidence with the subject and I would recommend him to other students.
Matthew helped me with some Computer Science topics when I was struggling with algorithms and pseudocode. He is very patient and explains things in a clear and simple way. We worked through a programming problem together and he helped me understand the logic behind it.
