About Myles
I am an A-level student who has achieved two 8’s, equivalent to 2 A*’s at GCSE. I’ve previously done tutoring for students 11-16, teaching individuals expected to be high achievers and training others in the skills necessary for achieving high grades. Having sat the exams, I not only have first hand experience in what the demands of these exams are, but I also understand what it means to be a student in this position, hence I am able to tailor my teaching to suit a range of individuals and facilitate a range of individuals to ensure I provide the best learning environment and experience.

Being a younger teacher, I have more of an adaptive, free-form teaching style. I like to focus on what my students feel that they’re weaker at; at the start of the lesson I aim for them to introspectively determine their weaknesses, before we set goals on how we shall work on them under my assistance and independently.
Furthermore, I advocate a progressive teaching method as I believe every individual is suited to learn a different way. Rather than using the usual clichéd and generic teaching method utilised by most teachers, I aim to maintain a more personalised teaching method, tailoring my lessons towards each students needs. Being a student myself I understand the practicality of creativity in learning.
Finally my current studies in psychology allow me to understand the process of learning and ensure all of my students are being taught in a way that is stimulating for them and doesn’t feel draining. I exercise elaborative learning, providing mini tasks to complete at the end of lessons that are not too tedious or time consuming, but that allow them to rehearse what they’ve learned and allow them to retain the lesson.
