About Toby
I have a 1st Class degree in English from the University of Southampton. I have 2 years' experience private tutoring in the UK and overseas while travelling different countries. I also have some limited experience in teaching English as a second language. I have taught ages ranging 11 years old up to adults, including some whose English isn't their native language.

Each class is tailored the the students needs (e.g. is it struggling with an aspect of an exam? Needing to improve a certain skill? Aiming for a certain grade and therefore need to improve overall?) We will follow a prepared lesson plan for the majority of the lesson, but its important the student voices up when they feel the need to - learning is fluid and the student needs to feel they are in control of it. My teaching follows this methodology because each student is different - in a group environment, the individual might not get the attention they require in specific areas.

Details
My travel to and from your home or chosen place of study is provided for free, up to 5 miles from Bishop's Stortford Train Station. Thereafter, travel is charged at an additional 50p/ mile (round trip.) Don't worry - the time it takes me to travel doesn't come out of your lesson time... if you pay for an hour, you get a full hour!
