About Ethan
Hi! I'm Ethan and I'm currently studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry A-Level with an EPQ on financial mathematics and am on track to secure 5 A*s. I chose my subjects because I have always loved maths and science, and I hope I get to share that passion with students.
I received 10 grade 9s at GCSE, putting me in the top 0.1% of candidates (gov.uk) Including: 98% in Maths, 97% in Further Maths, 98% in Physics and 96% in Chemistry. Having revised extensively for my exams, not only can I help with revision strategies and perfecting exam technique, but I also know these subjects inside and out - even more so now that I study them at A-level.
I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge with peers - I currently volunteer teaching GCSE Higher Maths students at my school. Those I tutor say that I'm especially good a breaking down complex concepts into simple ideas so they can better grasp the bigger picture.

After assessing what particular areas my student needs help with, I typically use a mixture of teaching concepts from scratch, followed by past exam questions with step-by-step guidance alongside a mark scheme. To do this effectively, I share my screen using Microsoft Whiteboard so my students can visually learn alongside a thorough verbal explanation to enhance understanding. This ensure students not only have a wide understanding of the topic in general but are also familiar with the content that they will actually be tested on in the exam. I also suggest additional practice resources to allow my tutoring to extend beyond the paid-for slot. Valuable guidance on exam technique will also be given to guarantee my students top marks.
Lesson timings are usually 1 hr and aimed at yr9-11 students studying GCSE Maths/Further Maths, Physics or Chemistry but could teach other subjects (namely Biology and French). I also have experience teaching as younger students, so please don't hesitate to reach out if this is the case.

Not only are his methods efficient, but he has a rare patience and kindness during his sessions that were so important when getting my grades.
