About Amber
While working hard and studying in these sessions is the sole focus here, I also think that students should feel free to have normal conversations with me. I find it helps that I'm a similar age to the kids I tutor, as I aim to feel more like a big sister helping with homework than a scary teacher. It’s a lot less intimidating for younger kids and older kids enjoy having someone to vent to. I also love exploring alternative teaching paths with younger kids, like using stories and funny characters to explain topics that they would usually be disinterested in. Overall, I know that my main objective is to teach, but I also love getting to know each of my students and using methods that are tailored to their individual personalities.

For older students I will be using a mix of both your notes and mine in order to work through past papers and active recall. I will also show you how to use mark schemes and available tools to improve your answers. For younger students I will work through questions and occasionally use educational games and puzzles depending on the age. Sessions range from 30 minutes - 2 hours depending on age and preference. I have previously tutored 6 others with an age range of 9 - 14, 3 of which are long term clients. Since I am a student myself, I provide unique insight into studying and my personal secrets to getting your desired grades. While I have no teaching qualifications, I believe that my GCSE and A-level results speak for themselves. I specialise in: GCSE science and maths, A-level biology and all things primary school.
