About Jolena
I have studied Spanish since 3rd grade, however, I am a native English speaker and, therefore, I understand the experience involved in switching code; in that English is vocabulary heavy whereas Spanish is very much focused on the verbs. I worked as a bilingual therapist for close to 20 years and was a licensed teacher teaching in public and private schools.

My teaching method is very eclectic. Due to my experience as a clinician I adapt my style to the needs of the student. It truly depends on the students background, their preexisting fund of knowledge. I am willing to give homework, if wanted, and grade it. If the student is needing tutoring help for a formal class they are already attending, I am open to contacting the professor and/or go over their existing body of work to determine what are the current strengths and weakness for efficacious instruction.
