About Tina
Do you spend hours working on math only to feel anxious, frustrated, or more confused than when you started? You are not alone—and math does not have to feel overwhelming.
I am a licensed K–8 educator with a Master of Education degree and 12 years of teaching experience, including six years teaching third grade. Using my Strengthen, Simplify, and Stretch method, I break difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps while helping students build strong foundational skills and lasting confidence. With personalized instruction, patience, and encouragement, every student can make progress and experience success in math.

My tutoring approach is designed to strengthen foundational math skills for students in grades 3–6. I use my three-step method—Strengthen, Simplify, and Stretch—to review prior knowledge, break difficult concepts into manageable steps, and challenge students to apply what they have learned.
A typical lesson includes a warm-up review, clear instruction, guided practice, independent problem-solving, and a brief confidence check. I use visuals, real-world examples, questioning techniques, and personalized practice based on each student’s learning needs.
What sets me apart is my whole-child approach. I focus on building both academic skills and confidence in a patient, supportive environment. I hold a Master of Education degree and have 12 years of K–8 teaching experience, including six years teaching third grade. My lessons are ideal for students who need foundational review, homework support, intervention, enrichment, or preparation for the next grade level.
