About Bridgid
My name is Bridgid.
I live in Cape Town in South Africa. English is my first language and I studied it at University too, as part of my University degree.
My working background is in Advertising Agencies and I have spent many years as in the Corporate world.
I have also had my own businesses.
For 13yrs I worked to start up many Montessori Schools in South Africa by making Montessori Educational Equipment from all over the world available and accessible to Montessori schools and teachers. I was involved in Early Childhood Education for a long time. I have experience with children learning to read and write, and to communicate from a young age.
My grandmother, who I spent most of my life with, was an English Speech teacher. She and my parents always taught me and my brothers and sister how to speak English “properly” – how to pronounce English words correctly, how to use the correct grammar and how to speak English very well.
I speak with a South African accent now – I have lived here almost all my life – but I can speak English without an accent! My grandmother and my parents always made sure I knew my own language well.
I also speak Afrikaans. It is my second language (it’s a South African language that sounds a bit like Dutch – so I can understand Dutch too if you speak it slowly to me!). I have also spent time learning French, although it was a few years ago that I spent a year at The Alliance Francaise in Johannesburg. So I have experience being taught other languages.

As a qualified TESL teacher, I teach English on line. I teach people of all ages, all over the world how to speak better English. I am just as comfortable working with you one-one-one or with a group. You may want to do some group conversation practice and that is something I can set up with you.

In our first meeting on line, I can establish how well you speak English now, and I can make sure that I teach you at YOUR level.
It is important to me that you are very comfortable learning English with me and that you enjoy your lessons. But it is also important is that you really do learn the language better!
My lessons are 1 hour long. I teach at your own level of understanding of English.
