About Sarah
I study Linguistics and Translation with minors in Spanish and Latin at the University of Iowa. I took four years of high school Spanish and have taken university classes taught in Spanish including a Spanish translation course and a Latin American literature course. I took two semesters of Elementary Latin that strengthened my understanding of Latinate syntax and grammar structures used in Spanish. I have experience as a leader and mentor in the Hawkeye Marching Band where I teach and review marching techniques to new and returning members. This requires my strong interpersonal communication skills to adapt my instruction methods to the individuals I'm working with.

I use a student-first approach to adapt my teaching to students' strengths and challenges. I offer practice and instruction in grammar and conversation practice for middle and high school students. For elementary students, I use simple vocabulary sets, music videos, and pneumonic devices.
