About Jamie-lee
I’m a Linguistics (English Language) graduate with 5 years of experience providing personalised one-to-one tuition to students of a wide range of abilities. I have worked with both SEN/SEMH learners and high-achieving students, allowing me to develop a flexible teaching approach that adapts to each student’s individual needs and goals.
I am passionate about helping students become more confident in English and supporting them in reaching their full potential. Whether a student needs help building their confidence and understanding or is aiming for the highest grades, I provide patient, encouraging and structured support.
I believe that every student learns differently, so I take the time to understand what works best for each individual. My lessons are designed to be supportive and engaging, while maintaining a clear focus on making progress and developing the skills needed to succeed in exams.
I teach GCSE and A Level English Language and Literature, both online and in person in Nottingham. I aim to create a friendly environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, challenging themselves and developing their confidence.

My approach to tutoring is personalised, supportive and focused on helping students build both confidence and understanding. I have 5 years of experience providing one-to-one tuition to a wide range of learners, including SEN/SEMH students. I can also help learners refine their analysis, essay writing and exam technique to push towards the highest grades.
For English Literature, I help students dissect and understand texts and poetry by breaking down difficult language, themes, characters and literary techniques into manageable sections. I encourage students to develop their own interpretations while teaching them how to support their ideas with relevant quotations and analysis. I also focus on essay structure, exam technique and developing clear, well-evidenced arguments.
For English Language, I tailor lessons to the student's individual needs, whether they need support with creative writing, analytical skills, comprehension or exam technique.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, although I can adapt the length depending on the student's age, level and individual needs. I teach GCSE and A Level students and aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their confidence.
