Live performing musician teaches singing with a focus on expression, confidence, and stage presence

Paolo and I met at York University where we’re both pursuing education and careers in music. I’ve supported him at many of his gigs and have also done a gig with him myself. He is a very ambitious leader and meets his band members and musicians where they are, while also challenging us to be the best we can be for the performance. He is organized and always has a game plan when it comes to rehearsals, despite unexpected obstacles. This makes him a very flexible and reliable leader, which I know will reflect in his teaching style. If you want to feel supported, I recommend going to Dante Paolo.

Upon meeting Paolo, we created Bandesals, a collective of musicians performing music from the Philippines. Working with Paolo in both university and music performance contexts, I have witnessed his leadership and incredible performance skills. His professionalism, dedication and contagious enthusiasm brings the best out of everyone he works with. Not only an incredibly talented musician, Paolo has so much to offer through teaching - excelling in theory and technique, but also showmanship and what it means to be a captivating performer.

As the bandleader of bandesals, Paolo had me guest on an event and he was nothing short of kind, welcoming, and sympathetic towards me.

Paolo has met me with the utmost kindness any leader has towards their peers as he helped me musically in a constructive, yet kind way. He was very generous with his time in order for me to feel prepared with the set list as he even set aside time apart to workshop challenging lines I struggled with.

His constructive feedback, coupled with his encouraging attitude gave me the confidence to perform alongside him; an experience I am forevermore grateful for.
