About Julia
I'm a trained attorney and law grad with a background in English Literature looking to transition into teaching. I studied Literature in London for three years, where I researched and wrote a dissertation on Shakespeare and the Law, learned Old English, and even prepared my own translation of Beowulf from the original. After undergrad, I briefly served as an LSAT prep tutor and eventually became a peer tutor in law school where I assisted first-year students. I care deeply about the arts and humanities as well as all forms of learning. I am fluent in Spanish and have worked as an interpreter as well as counselor at a Spanish Immersion Camp. In addition to working at the higher education level, I also love to tutor young kids and provide support to K-12 students seeking academic support. For me, tutoring is a relational endeavor that relies on the connection between student and teacher as much as the credentials of either. I am excited to get to know every student personally and help them find their unique learning style.
