About Jonathan
I am a 21-year-old college student from Kenya currently studying audio production at Harris Institute. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up diving into every music-related extracurricular I could find, later completed a sound engineering course at Africa Digital Media Institute, and moved from Nairobi to Toronto to build my music career. I've spent over 15 years practicing piano and studying music theory, about 10 on guitar, and 7 producing with Logic Pro. Along the way, I’ve performed in church bands, orchestras, rock fusion bands, solo recitals, and accompanied vocalists across a wide range of genres. I'm passionate and dedicated to music, and that comes through in the way I teach. My goal is to help students discover and develop their musical voice—whether that means learning to play songs they love, writing original material, or just having fun with the instrument. I’m here to support that journey and help unlock whatever potential each student brings to the table.
