About Nina
I've had experience in teaching reading skills as well as volunteering at schools, but am eager to work on helping older students perfect their essay writing approach (which I'm aware is always the biggest hurdle!) I've done courses in creative writing and script writing, and continue to write as a hobby, but I'm personally proud of having found out over the years how to work with a syllabus, and become efficient in where to focus efforts. It took time and dedication, but I've never had lower than an A grade!

GSCE and A Level English - specifically essays and creative writing - is what I tend to specialise in. I like to get to know the student first, and how they approach studying in their most comfortable sense. I don't want to change their own techniques too much! Instead of making assumptions, I'd work to incorporate improvements in any areas they might want help with. After an initial meeting where the groundwork is set up, I'll be able to mediate and work out an action plan for you if required!
I like to be respectful and create as even a playing field as possible when tutoring. Listening to the student and working out what they need from me is very important. I think a vital part is energy and enthusiasm also.
