About Grant
I have been teaching for the last 5 years, and I get great joy from seeing my students grow. My goal is to invest in each student, and to nurture their curious spirit. With a “song first” approach I ensure each lesson is not only fun, but contains the necessary information that will improve the student's skills. I believe that it doesn’t take as much as most people think to get work as a guitar player, and I strive to prepare my students for the real-world music scenes they will encounter.

I have played a wide variety of genres- Country, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Funk, Bluegrass and more playing both lead guitar and bass. Together, you and I will work towards your genre specific goals- this means showing you the cliches of that music, harmonic content, crucial licks and rhythms to sound convincing in that role. We begin with what is familiar to you, such as the basic cowboy chords. I then show how we can use basic chord shapes to visualize our new vocabulary all across the fretboard- allowing for true fretboard mastery and authentic phrasing. If you feel like you have plateaued, I am here to get you to that next threshold!

Perfect! Grant has been a long time teacher of mine for the last 2 years, he's been a great teacher, he's taught me the basics, and everything that a guitarist should know. He excels at music theory and especially music theory in jazz/blues. 10/10 teacher for everyone of all ages and skill levels.
