About Abigail
I am a female Cameroonian living in the United Arab Emirates, a holder of BA, in English and can equally express myself fluently in French and English. I have a certificate in ABA, and SEN approved by KHDA and I recently completed my 40 hours training in IBT. In addition, I have over 5 years of experience working as a learning support assistant.

I have experience supporting children on the autism spectrum who present with a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile. I understand that most children facing these challenges often experience high anxiety and meltdowns around everyday demands and benefit from a flexible, low-demand approach. In my previous role(s), I focused on building trusting relationships, offering choices to promote a sense of control, and using indirect communication strategies to reduce pressure. I also worked closely with parents, therapists, and educators to create individualized support plans that prioritized emotional safety and engagement. For instance, I supported a student who found transitions challenging; by using visual schedules and negotiated routines, we reduced distress significantly. my goal is always to meet the child where they are, helping them feel understood and capable.
