About Chethan
Hey everyone! I'm Chethan, and I am currently studying BSc Economics at the London School of Economics. During GCSEs, where I received 10 A*s, I found my passion for Mathematics as a uniquely rigid, interconnected and beautiful discipline. During A-Levels, I tutored French GCSE students, boosting their summer exam grades (via key-word quizlets, speaking practice and mock exams) whilst studying towards my eventual A* and A in Mathematics and Further Mathematics respectively. I subsequently chose a very mathematical course at a very mathematical university, completing additional Abstract and Method mathematical modules during first-year. It follows that I am well-equipped to tutor Mathematics at a secondary school level, and I hope I can convey to you the passion I have held, and forever will hold, for Mathematics!

The biggest advantage of tutoring is that it is a totally personalised experience. Hence, I aim to tailor my lessons to the student by encouraging them to uncover their weak spots, doubts or concerns and addressing them. I will help students face challenges and uncertainty with bravery, as this is a useful key skill beyond academics. To help students understand concepts, I will explain them in a bottom-up, accessible and clear way, pointing out their role in the broader field of mathematics, certainly answering any & all questions along the way! I will present information through various means (by equations/formulae, practical examples, graphically etc.), identifying how the student best absorbs it. Although my teaching will aim to help you understand mathematics as an artistic field, there is no doubt that I will prepare you thoroughly for the exam. Through research and personal experiences, I have gathered the most efficient way to learn is to understand relevant content, practice and apply understanding via questions and use spaced repetition to actively recall knowledge and solidify understanding in the long term. Revision techniques and resources will complement this :)
