About Ashton
I am an undergraduate at LSE reading Mathematics with Economics, having achieved 4 A*s at A-Level (Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Economics) and 10 grade 9s at GCSE. I have always loved helping others reach their academic goals, which led me to tutor younger students throughout secondary school and, more recently, to work with Spark Tutoring for over 6 months. With 100+ hours of professional tutoring experience, I've learned to be strongly exam-oriented, tailoring lessons directly to what exam boards want to see. I also love hearing about my students' lives outside academics, since time away from exam pressure matters just as much. Parents can feel confident that no student will be made to feel ashamed for not knowing an answer, and that lessons will be appropriately challenging even for those working towards top university applications.

I am a strong proponent of active learning, and thus I will always be asking the tutee questions to ensure they have understood content. There will be lots of exercise questions, but not in the repetitive style of typical school textbooks especially if I gauge the tutee wishes to develop problem-solving techniques. However, this is to be adapted to the particular student. I have had lots of experience tutoring for a variety of age ranges to help those in lower years when I was at secondary school. I can provide lessons for any duration up to 90 minutes and this will depend on the requests of any given student. Lessons will be aimed at any age range up to 18 years old preparing for A-Levels.
