About Jacob
I have just graduated high school, and this fall, I'll be attending Luther College to pursue a degree in Music Education! While I want to be a high school choral director, I also love math, so, I picked up tutoring earlier this year! While I have only been a professional tutor for a couple of months, I have been micro-tutoring my younger siblings for many years. In terms of my mathematics expertise, I have excelled in all of my high school mathematics courses including Geometry, Algebra 2 with Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus BC (College Calculus 1 and 2). With this in mind, I am a master at Algebra 1 and Pre-Algebra as those concepts are needed to have a solid foundation for those other upper level classes. I have always loved working with students, helping them understand mathematics in a new light; it brings me joy to see the "Ohhh!" moments that happen at least once with my students.

I am a HUGE visual person. Being a high school graduate, I totally understand that not everyone understands lectures or simply taking notes and doing the homework. There has to be a visual connection, and that's what I do best when it comes to math! I also am a super kind and caring person, so I'm not going to get frustrated because one way I teach you doesn't work! I am determined to help you understand, even if I have to show how something works multiple different ways! I like to think I'm also quite relatable as a high school graduate, so learning doesn't feel tense with me!
