About Lexie
I graduated the UT System Honors College Magna Cum Laude while also being selected for the prestigious Bill Archer Fellowship in Washington, D.C. I've worked as a nanny for a family of three children managing their school activities and kindergarten to high school homework. I've also worked at an after-school program where I functioned as the homework tutor and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the kids learn to problem solve and spell things out on their own.

I have the knowledge and communication skills to tutor students to excellence. Score results are paramount, but comprehension is the goal; together we'll achieve both. I focus on what needs development for individual students. Together we create a stronger foundation, focusing on grammar, pronunciation, and proper sentence structure. Then we move into what makes an argument or paper convincing. By using a paper they've written we dive into what areas can be improved on. Then slowly we develop these techniques over time until they become second nature through the use of excerpts, short stories, written, and verbal essays. For reading aid, I use a systematic approach based on the sounds of letters and common blended letters. It's a comprehensive phonemic base that helps them to pivot from word to word instead of a common memorization technique which can delay a child's ability to read. I also do AP test prep! AP European History, AP American History, AP World History, AP English Language and Composition, and English Literature.
