About Anne
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that music is a powerful form of expression that should be accessible to everyone. I also integrate music theory in a way that is practical and relevant, helping students understand how scales, chords, and rhythm patterns contribute to the music they play. Beyond technical skills, I emphasize the importance of creativity, self-expression, and emotional connection to music. I encourage students to explore different genres, experiment with improvisation, and even try their hand at songwriting, fostering a sense of ownership and joy in their musical journey. My goal is to create a learning environment where students feel supported, inspired, and confident in their ability to make music.

I communicate clearly and simply, avoiding jargon, and check in regularly to adjust lessons to your needs and learning style. Whether you learn best through visual aids like chord charts, auditory tools like backing tracks, or hands-on rhythm exercises using loopers, I tailor lessons to suit you. Learning guitar should be about expressing yourself, not getting stuck on technical puzzles.
To motivate you, I share inspiring stories from well-known guitarists and everyday students who have conquered common challenges. Alongside playing, I teach skills such as tone shaping, stage presence, practice strategy, reading chord charts, and improvisation to help you grow as a complete musician.
