About Joshua
About me: Hi! I’m currently studying Economics at The University of Portsmouth. I’m a competitive table tennis player and love to play football whenever I can. My true passion, however, has always been for tutoring as I feel my life’s purpose is to help others. What’s my maths tutoring experience? -I tutored at my school’s mentorship programme. -The school later paid me during the holidays to teach maths to underachieving students on their premises. -Due to my performance as a tutor in the mentorship programme, the next year, I was given the role ‘Head of Mathematics’ in the same programme, where I had the responsibility of training and overseeing the maths tutoring sessions taught by the year below. -At the end of the year, I was invited to the local area’s annual prize giving, where I was presented with the prestigious Neil Harts prize for ‘Outstanding student support work’ in front a crowd which included the guest of honour: The Baroness Thornhill MBE, who presented me with the award.
