About Alvin
Hi! I’m a Mandarin teacher who enjoys helping students learn Chinese in a simple, practical and comfortable way.
I teach Mandarin and HSK, and I especially enjoy working with beginners who may feel nervous or unsure about speaking Chinese. Don’t worry if you have zero Mandarin experience — we can start step by step.
I’m patient, friendly and flexible in class, and I can explain Mandarin in English when needed. I also adjust my lessons according to each student’s learning pace, interests and goals.
Whether you want to learn Mandarin for daily life, work, travel, communication or HSK preparation, I’ll help you build your confidence and use Chinese more naturally.

Speak Mandarin from your very first lesson.
My lessons focus on practical Mandarin that you can use in real-life situations. You will learn through everyday conversations such as introducing yourself, ordering food, shopping, travelling and workplace communication.
Instead of simply memorising vocabulary and grammar, you will learn new words, sentence structures, pronunciation and grammar naturally through conversations.
My lessons are suitable for complete beginners and adult learners, and the learning pace can be adjusted according to your needs and goals.
HSK preparation is also available for students who would like to prepare for the examination or improve their Mandarin in a more structured way.
Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable speaking Mandarin and be able to use what you learn in real life.
