About Sylvia
I hold a Master's in Chinese Language and Literature from East China Normal University and am currently pursuing a Master of Business in Global Management and Marketing at Lincoln University. My academic pursuits have been driven by a desire to foster learning and empower students to reach their full potential.
I have worked as a full-time Chinese teacher in a Shanghai model high school for three years. I was responsible for the Chinese teaching of two classes (with an average of 40 students in each class) and the daily management of one class every semester. My responsibilities covered lesson preparation, exam management, and student feedback. This strengthened my classroom management and teaching abilities. I also managed classroom dynamics, supported curriculum delivery, and coached students to significant success in competitions, such as the National Science Fiction Writing Competition for Middle School students.
Besides, I used to work as a teacher's assistant in Shanghai Foreign Children's School. I participate in the teaching work of Year 3 -Year 6 and undertook part of the teaching work of Year 7-Year 10.
My previous work experience forged my work ethic. I would commit to celebrating each student's progress and milestones, no matter how small, underscoring my commitment to education and student achievement.
