About Katherine
Hello! My name is Mrs. Katherine Lawrence. I have a Master's degree in Education that I received from Tennessee Tech University. I have experience in public and private schools, working as a classroom teacher, learning support specialist, and enrichment teacher.
Besides being a teacher, I am a wife and a mother! I have a 3 year old son, Caden, and many baby chicks. I love nature and my favorite subjects are English and Science!

I like to teach based on individual student needs. I have learned over the years that personalized instruction goes a long way. For students in school full time, I hope to gain insight into the plans of the classroom teacher to assist and keep your student on track. Depending on the needs/subject being taught, my sessions will range from 30 minutes to 1 hour long and follow a lesson plan.
For example, a session on story writing would begin with the overall goal of the author and the outline/sequence the author uses to complete the story. I would then transition into the layout of the story and how to introduce the setting, characters, climax, and resolution. As the student begins the writing process, I would check for grammar/spelling needs and create mini lessons based on other areas if needed.
Most of my lessons will be intended for students K5-6th Grade.
