About Jonathan
I have spent the last 5 years travelling and living outside of the UK, first as an English teacher and then most recently as a history teacher. I have spent one year living in Ecuador, another in Argentina and two in Colombia. I have just recently returned from a 4-month tour of Bolivia and Peru where I made countless visits to fantastic historical and cultural sites such as Machu Picchu and the ruins of Chan Chan in Peru, as well as Lake Titicaca and the Island of the Sun in Bolivia. I am always keen to immerse myself in the history and culture of whichever country I am travelling in and I bring this passion and interest to every history class that I teach, regardless of the place, time or themes that we are studying.

I believe in a tailor-made approach for private tutoring whereby every class is customised to best meet the needs and abilities of each individual student. Lessons typically last an hour and will include engaging and dynamic activities to help with core historical content that needs to be covered. These are delivered in conjunction with more thorough and critical exploration of vital skills such as essay writing and source analysis. This provides a great balance between fun, interest and engagement, and the development of key academic and life skills.
