About Sarah
I am a Master’s student of applied linguistics, with an undergraduate background in classical literature and Latin. I have seven years of tutoring experience in a variety of subjects, including math, writing, and biology. I have worked with remedial students, enabling them to not only pass but thrive in school. I believe that the best teaching methodology is able to flexibly adapt to students’ strengths and weaknesses. During the first few classes I typically asses the student's academic level as well as his or her learning style. I utilize modern conversational methods; however these methods can leave students feeling overwhelmed and grammatically unsure of themselves. I believe an ideal class is a comfortable experience, providing all the grammatical explanations necessary, while at the same time keeping the right brain active with large amounts of conversational activities.
