About Hootan
I am a professional colorist and filmmaker with over a decade of experience in high-end post-production, having worked on more than 185 feature films, series, and documentaries for international platforms and major productions. My work combines a deep understanding of color science with a strong artistic approach, allowing me to design workflows that are both technically precise and visually compelling. I have extensive experience in complex conforming, HDR and SDR pipelines, and finishing projects to delivery standards, often collaborating closely with directors, cinematographers, and VFX teams.
Alongside my professional work, I am passionate about mentoring and supporting emerging talent. My teaching approach is grounded in real-world practice, offering insight into how professional studios operate rather than focusing only on software. I aim to help students develop not just technical skills, but also a trained eye, confidence in decision-making, and a clear understanding of industry expectations.
