About Maris
I’m a passionate chess tutor with 7 years of experience, dedicated to helping high school and college students grow in strategy and confidence. I’ve taught over 300 students and love seeing their skills and thinking improve. One of my proudest moments was coaching a student to win a school chess championship. I believe every learner has potential, and I work hard to make chess fun, clear, and inspiring for everyone I teach.

I also teach how to stay calm, think ahead, and make smart moves with patience and diplomacy. Whether you’re a beginner or improving your game, I make each lesson engaging and easy to follow. I can also teach related games like checkers, backgammon, and Risk to build wider strategic thinking.
