• Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

  When I was 10 years old, I had a playdate with a friend, and it turned out to be an exciting day of exploration. During our playdate, we stumbled upon a computer and immediately decided to see what it could do.
  To our delight, we discovered a classic game called Pac-Man on the computer. It quickly captured our attention as we took turns maneuvering the little yellow character through intricate mazes, skillfully avoiding the colorful ghosts and devouring as many pellets as we could. The experience of controlling the game using the computer's keyboard or mouse filled us with wonder and pure enjoyment.
  Little did I know that this first encounter with a computer and the thrilling game of Pac-Man would ignite a deep curiosity in technology and gaming within me. It left an indelible impression and sparked a passion for exploring the vast possibilities that computers held.

• What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

  Cloud computing has marked a significant technological evolution that has greatly influenced various industries and individuals. Its scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness have revolutionized how we utilize technology. Looking ahead, the widespread adoption and advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) could be a significant turning point in the field. These technologies have the potential to transform industries and reshape the way we work and solve complex problems. Responsible development and deployment of AI will be crucial for maximizing its positive impact on society.

• Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

  I specialize in Data Science and Machine Learning, a field that has captivated my interest and drives my passion for the computer world. With my background in Finance, I recognize the numerous applications of Data Science and Machine Learning in areas such as financial forecasting, risk analysis, and investment strategies. Uncovering insights from data and building intelligent systems excite me, and I am committed to leveraging these techniques to drive innovation and make a meaningful impact across industries, including finance.

• Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

  While visionaries such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg have made significant contributions, it's important to note that there are many other influential figures in the field of technology. One such figure who has inspired me personally is Professor Robert Shiller, known for his work in behavioral economics and finance. His book, "Narrative Economics," has been a source of inspiration for my doctoral research, and I have built upon his ideas.
  "Narrative Economics" explores the role of storytelling and narratives in shaping economic behavior and trends. Professor Shiller's research has shed light on the impact of narratives on financial markets and the economy, providing valuable insights into the intersection of economics and psychology. His work has inspired me to delve deeper into understanding the human factors that drive economic decisions and develop innovative approaches to analyze and predict market behavior.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  During my school days, I faced a challenging coding project that had a persistent bug. Despite my efforts, I couldn't find a solution. Thankfully, a classmate with excellent debugging skills stepped in to help. Together, we identified a small typo causing the issue. Working collaboratively, we fixed it, leading to a sense of accomplishment and highlighting the importance of teamwork in overcoming technical challenges.

• What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

  I completely empathize with the feeling that IT can be overwhelming and complicated, especially when faced with a screen filled with complex information. However, I want to assure you that if you break things down into their component pieces and approach them step by step, even the most complex subject can start making more sense and feel less daunting.
  Rather than trying to tackle everything at once, focus on understanding the fundamental concepts and building a solid foundation of knowledge. By starting with the basics and gradually delving deeper, you can incrementally increase your understanding and build confidence in working with IT.
  Furthermore, effective communication plays a crucial role in any field, including IT. Being able to explain complicated matters in simple words, without relying on technical jargon, is a valuable skill. It not only helps others understand complex concepts but also deepens your own understanding as you break down complex ideas into more digestible explanations.

• What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

  I enjoy spending time outdoors, particularly by the seaside. They find it refreshing and rejuvenating to connect with nature and take in the beauty of coastal landscapes.
  Additionally, I am interested in interior design, finding joy in creating aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces. They explore different design concepts, color schemes, and furniture arrangements as a creative outlet.
  Lastly, I love Japanese and Korean cuisine. The flavors, presentation, and cultural significance of these cuisines are intriguing and delightful to explore.

• What makes you a Superprof in IT?

  My lessons are a dynamic, interactive space, where theory meets practice. With my expertise as a Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer and a PhD in computer science, I deliver hands-on sessions that demystify the intricacies of AI.
  Equipped with a vast array of teaching tools and resources, I employ hands-on exercises, and captivating case studies to reinforce my students' understanding. I encourage active participation, fostering an environment where questions are welcomed and curiosity is celebrated.
  Using Python as programming language of choice, students will explore algorithms, dive into neural networks, and gain practical skills to conquer Data Science and ML landscape.
