About Syeda Satwat
I have a Master's degree in Chemistry, and have been teaching chemistry for the past 4 years to high school and college students. I also have extensive knowledge of chemistry laboratory techniques and data analysis, and have authored multiple scientific papers and book chapters. I tailor personalized lessons on the topics that students struggle with, and have no problem keeping up with students' learning pace, making sure that they have clear concepts before moving on. I focus on simple yet practical learning. I believe in making the learning experience an interactive and fun experience in order to grasp the concepts completely and effectively. For complex chemistry concepts, I make them easy to grasp for my students using models, hands-on activities, and simple visualizations. Relating chemistry with the real world is my goal for every lesson. My lesson planning includes * Defining learning objectives of the lesson * Achieving them by engaging activities and discussions * Assessing the learning during wrap-up by simple quizzes, observations, presentations, and summarization. * Revisiting the lesson goals at the end of the lesson. I believe in a student-centered class, where the teacher acts as a guide and elaborates hard-to-grasp concepts. My students always know that their responses are welcomed whether they are right or wrong. I create a fearless environment for my students to ask questions or give the wrong responses to assess their learning.
