About Jacob
I achieved an A* with full UMS (marks) in English Literature at A-Level in 2013. In 2016, I graduated with a first-class (1.1) honours BA degree in Film and Literature from the University of Warwick. I am currently close to completing work on an MA for Research in the University of Warwick's Film and Television Studies department. I am a published writer and music journalist with a friendly approach and an infectious passion for learning.

I aim to break the giant, daunting prospect of the blank page down logically until a new essay is seen as an opportunity for critically engaged expression, rather than a terrifying and infinite problem. I like to ask students a lot of questions so that the direction I take is guided by and tailored to the particular needs and learning styles of every individual. I place a lot of emphasis in exercises on planning, critical thinking and academic writing style. When these skills are refined, it's possible to attain the highest available marks in essay-based assignments and examinations.
