About Rebeca
I have been tutoring since I was 14. I started teaching kids, and as I have gotten older so have my students. I currently teach adults and teenagers a range of beginner to proficiency level. Teaching has become second nature to me, I am very comfortable and confident which I think makes the lessons easy to follow. I love learning languages, and have personally taken up both French and German, which means I understand the struggle to learn a new language and use my experience and my tutees' experience as a template which I adapt to each individual student.

I believe that feeling comfortable with the teacher when learning a language is key. This is why I offer a free tester class to get to know my students, and for them to get to know me. This means that we can become comfortable and gives me a chance to assess how the particular student would like to be taught. I have had many different types of students in the past, some who would rather focus on speaking, grammar or on their written skills. I like to tailor my lessons to what the student needs. Mostly I prefer to teach through speaking. I aim to speak in Spanish as much as possible given the student's level, as I believe this is the best way to get used to a new language. In addition, I combine grammar exercises with reading or listening activities, but always draw these back to a conversation, allowing the student to speak and learn through practice. I also love to include some kind of Spanish fun fact within each lesson, so that students learn about the Spanish culture and people as well as the language.
