About Ruby
I hold a Master’s in Philosophy with Distinction from the University of St Andrews, prior to which I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a First in Philosophy and Politics. I have experience tutoring Philosophy and Politics at multiple levels, from GCSE through to undergraduate. While at Edinburgh, I worked as an undergraduate Philosophy undergraduate tutor, and I have also guided more than 20 students through their two-year IB and A-Level Philosophy courses.

Philosophy is an exciting, challenging subject that requires developed critical thinking skills. I find that many students struggle to approach philosophy papers, so an important part of my lessons is teaching students how to approach philosophy, how to read it, understand it and eventually write it. I tailor all my lessons to my students but usually work on reviewing or teaching course content, editing and re-drafting essays and coursework and exam preparation. I have taught a range of areas of philosophy such as ethics, feminist philosophy, political philosophy, philosophy of mind and philosophy of religion.
