About Orena
I'm a biologist with over 10 years of experience both academically and professionally. I started working in the field of biology since 2014 with experience working within different disciplines such as botany, marine biology, museum sciences, wildlife-hazard mitigation, conservation biology, data management, and microbiology. I graduated from high school and college with high honors, and multiple scholarships. I have a passion for learning, and I love teaching. I enjoy cooking, crocheting and origami. In my free time I like visiting parks and wildlife refuges.

I like to teach with a combination of verbal and visual aids as I'm explaining a new concept. I like to check in with my students to make sure that they are truly understanding the material and not just memorizing skills that they will forget in the future. I like to give them the ability to apply the skills they learn to other concepts in the class independently.
My lesson plan would start with understanding how much of a concept the student already understands. I really want to understand what they already understand and use that basis to efficiently teach them the material they need to learn.
What makes me a great tutor is that I'm a very good listener, and I'm very observant. I can really understand how people process information based on my knowledge of diverse learning styles and abilities. I try to do everything I can to give my students the tools they need to succeed. I have a very adaptable teaching style that can cater to each student's needs.
I provide lessons for high school students, college students, and master's students. I specialize in mathematics, and science classes. I can also aid in writing laboratory report, research, data analysis, and statistics. I also have extensive tutoring experience in computer programs such as Microsoft Office, and Google Drive.
