About Andrea
As someone who struggled a lot with mathematics in primary school, I was told and believed that 'some people are just no good at math.' I was fortunate to meet a teacher who challenged this belief, and took the time to explain math and science concepts to me. Now, I have graduated with a Masters of Science in First class honors (focused on Bioinformatics) and am looking to begin my PhD studying Breast Cancer Histology via machine learning. I aim to be that person for my students, improving both their grades and self-confidence. I have tutored over 10+ high-school students, all of whom experienced major improvement and gave excellent feedback. I look forward to helping more students excel in STEM subjects.

As each student is unique, I tailor my teaching style to utilize their personal strengths. Lessons may range from 45 to 90 minutes depending on the coursework and the student. I have spent four years tutoring students, ranging from high-school to undergraduate courses (assisting professors). I am especially experienced in tutoring NCEA/Cambridge years 11-13 biology and statistics.
