Hi! My name is Ava. I’m a native Chinese speaker from Tibet and currently studying for a Master’s degree in Education at the University of Auckland. I have a strong background in Chinese language education, with a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. I have experience teaching Mandarin to both children and adults, and I’m passionate about helping students develop confidence and interest in learning Chinese. I’m patient, friendly, and always happy to adapt my teaching style to meet each student’s individual needs. Whether you’re learning Mandarin for school, travel, work, or just for fun, I’d love to support you on your journey!

Mandarin
I offer personalised Mandarin lessons for both children and adults, tailored to different levels and learning goals. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to improve your Chinese speaking, listening, reading or writing skills, I will design fun, interactive, and effective lessons for you.
Lessons can focus on daily conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, or Chinese culture, depending on your needs. I use a variety of teaching methods including games, storytelling, and real-life topics to keep lessons engaging and enjoyable.
Classes are available online or in person (Auckland). Lessons can be taught in English, Chinese, or both.You will be learning from a native Chinese speaker with a background in Chinese language education. I’m currently studying for a Master’s degree in Education at the University of Auckland and have experience teaching Mandarin to students of different ages.
