About Isabelle
I am a masters student studying English Literature at UCL, and am interested in publishing, copywriting, and cognitive literary studies. I am passionate about all things English Lit. and Language related, and would love to share my knowledge and expertise to help others. Previously, I have tutored students at GCSE level, as well as younger individuals. When studying for specific exams (such as the Oxbridge entrance exam), I too worked with a tutor, and appreciated their guidance. At A Level, the texts I studied were 'The Picture of Dorian Gray', 'Dracula', 'A Streetcar Named Desire', 'Measure for Measure', as well as numerous contemporary and modernist poets. I would be happy to go through coursework as well as exam prep. At degree level, one of my favourite drama's studied thus far was 'Pygmalion' by Bernard Shaw; outside of my course I'm usually found reading, running, or baking!

I can tutor anyone between the ages of 7 and 17. I am happy to go through homework, prior essays, and different approaches to texts to structure the lessons according to the student's needs. I would focus on language, style, and context. Having gone through both GCSE and A Level English Literature, I am familiar with the syllabus and texts studied on each course -- with specific emphasis on Shakespeare and poetry. Each lesson would be one hour long, and would focus on key techniques that are useful to hit the higher grade boundaries. Alongside set texts, I am happy to help navigate poetic techniques. I can explore and develop any areas of English Language up to GCSE level, with specific emphasis on creative writing and writing style -- an aspect that goes hand in hand with Literature.
