About Rachel
I'm a certified educator with over 13 years of experience and a Master’s in Education. I don’t believe in memorizing steps and hoping for the best. I teach students how to think, break problems down, and build real understanding that sticks.
My teaching style is supportive, structured, and highly engaging. I focus on building strong relationships with my students while using clear instruction, modeling, and guided practice to help them feel confident in what they’re learning. I believe students learn best when they feel safe, encouraged, and challenged at the same time.

My approach to tutoring is centered around building confidence and helping students truly understand math—not just memorize steps. I use a combination of explicit instruction, guided practice, and strategy-based teaching to help students break down problems and think critically.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in and review, followed by modeling a skill step-by-step. Then, we work through problems together before the student practices independently with support. I adjust each lesson based on the student’s needs and learning style.
What sets me apart is my focus on creating a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I also prioritize building strong relationships, which helps students stay engaged and motivated.
My lessons are designed for students in grades 4–9 who need support in math, whether they are struggling, need to catch up, or want to build confidence and stay ahead.
