About Jenna
I am employed full-time at Summit Academies of Youngstown as an Instructional Aide with special focus on middle-school math. I have experience in assisting kids who have mental/behavioral issues and/or a history of trauma.
I have a 15 year old son and aware of the challenges kids face in today's world. My goal is to help kids, who are struggling, develop confidence while expanding their math skills.
I am a part of a recreational softball league currently and played my whole life. I am familiar with student-athlete requirements; and, staying academically eligible can cause additional stress with kids. My job is to help children grasp new math concepts, as well as provide encouragement and positive reinforcement. My passion is using my experience to help children overcome the challenges they face, whether it be personal or academic.
I look forward to learning more about your specific needs! My hours are by appointment and held between 4-8 pm, 1 hour sessions. Tutoring appointments are individual 1:1 at this time. Group sessions may be available in the future! My fee is $15/hour per student (discounts available for siblings) payable by cash, venmo, or cashapp. For additional information, please e-mail me at (concealed information) and provide your contact info as well as child's grade and if there are any special needs. I approach each child based off their specific needs. Consumer math is a strong focus to help kids with everyday, real-world math (I.e. Sales tax, discount percentages, budgeting, and understanding payroll process including hours worked, income and deductions), as well as state-based curriculum.
There are different pathways to success, and I can assist in providing and referring additional resources in order to provide the child options to determine the direction that is right for them!
