About Emily
I will be graduating this May with degrees in Mathematics and Equine Management and a minor in Theology. In college, I also completed an honors program centered on designing, programming, building, and deploying robotic land rovers that could collect data on bat populations and vegetation in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona for further study.
My main career involves rehabilitating and retraining abused, neglected, or otherwise unwanted equines to be rehomed or placed in sanctuary if rehoming isn't feasible.
I also have experience in outdoor adventure leadership, visual arts (especially ceramics), and some music.

I chose to study math as a personal interest alongside education for my main career--learning and teaching math is something I love to do!
I firmly believe that any person from any background can reach a full understanding of math up through at least calculus. When students struggle with any level of foundational math, arithmetic through calculus, it is never a reflection of the student's intelligence or lack thereof--it's just a sign that the student hasn't received the support they need in the way that they need it.
I also intentionally keep my rates low because I understand that cost can be a significant barrier to academic support and I don't think it's fair to leave perfectly capable students behind just because of their financial situation.
