About Reghan
Hi, my name is Reghan! I am a 4th-year math student at the University of Ottawa, and I will be based in Brampton for the summer! I have taken classes in all sorts of math topics, such as calculus, linear algebra, real analysis, probability, geometry, and number theory. After I graduate, I plan on getting a Bachelor of Education so I can be a math teacher! Math has always been my favorite subject, but I know it's not always the easiest subject to understand and that can be very discouraging. I want to create a supportive environment where students build confidence in their abilities and feel encouraged to keep trying.

I offer one-on-one math tutoring for students in grades 6-12. Whether you want to improve your skills before school starts again in September or just keep them sharp over the summer, I'm here to help! After a 30 minute consult, I will create a learning plan that fits your learning goals, schedule, and budget, while also aligning with the Ontario math curriculum.
In a typical one-hour session, I will combine visual and hands-on learning to break down the concept we are working on. To build the foundation of the concept, I will explain important definitions, formulas and examples. Then, I will demonstrate strategies for solving problems, and we will work through a few exercises together to make sure you are confident in your problem solving skills. Depending on your learning goals, I may recommend some exercises for at-home practice, which I will look over in our next session. Before we end, I will make sure to answer any and all questions you have about the content we covered. I will also ask for feedback. I want to know what worked for you and what didn't, so I can make the necessary adjustments to my tutoring approach.
I understand each student is different and tutoring is not one-size-fits-all. I am always willing to adapt our plan and tailor the tutoring to better fit your needs because, at the end of the day, my goal is to help you reach your goals. As a tutor, I want to help you learn and better understand mathematical concepts. I want to help build your confidence in the material and your ability to problem solve.
