About Elizabeth
I am a former mathematics teacher, bakery manager, and tutor. I have taught Algebra 1 and geometry to more than 700 students and have tutored students in elementary school math. l also tutored student-athletes in their various math classes. I have 10 years of real-world experience using math in the culinary and business worlds.

My teaching model is a blend of direct instruction and inquiry-based learning. I present the new material by using multiple examples, give students guided practice and immediate feedback, and then give independent practice. I present certain topics using inquiry-based learning, by presenting a problem or puzzle to solve and guiding students to use previous knowledge to form a solution. I approach each topic by attempting to make a connection to an everyday use.
