I believe that there is always an optimal way to deliver information effectively to each individual and it's only with patience and listening to the student you can find that optimal method.
I start by listening to the concern and understanding the problem. Then I break it down into small sections or sessions if needed and explain it giving examples that progress in complexity as we progress solving the problem or as the course material progresses
