About Alvaro
I have a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and a master's degree in education. Not many mathematicians have the experience and the professional preparation in both fields. For the last 6 years, I have worked on melting these two fields into one, creating my own methods and using my unique approach to help students overcome their fears of maths. It has been challenging; I have had many different students, but I am now confident and happy to say that all my current students enjoy my lessons and have a positive attitude towards them.

Hello! I'm a math tutor with 6 years of experience with 1-to-1 tutoring, planning specialized lessons, and helping my students overcome their fears towards maths.
Math can be a hard topic, and it is easy to have negative experiences with it. That's why I focus my lessons on having positive experiences, using problem-solving techniques, asking the right questions, and helping them explain the topics by themselves at the end of each unit.
If you think math is not a topic for you and that you are "not good at math", then these lessons are for you! It doesn't matter your level or class year, as I have majored in mathematics, I have knowledge of a huge variety of topics at their different levels.
