About Shivshankar
Hi! My name is Shiv, and I'm a junior at Brown University studying Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. I've always been passionate about math, and I was very involved in my high school's math team. I have 4 years of experience tutoring math for students ranging from elementary/middle school to college calculus and ACT/SAT prep. My experience includes in-person and virtual tutoring, and I am very comfortable tutoring via Zoom and other online services. Looking forward to meeting you!

A typical lesson will include a brief overview of a topic during which I will go over example problems. This will be followed by example problems I will work through with the student, and example problems that the student will attempt themselves. I would also be happy to provide homework help as needed. I am willing to tutor students in middle school level math up to calculus and ACT/SAT test prep. I use methods like Socratic Questioning to ensure that students truly internalize problem solving skills, as opposed to memorizing seemingly random processes.
